JAWAD MOHAMED TO HEAD SOLIDARITY GENERAL TAKAFUL

Jawad Mohammed has been appointed General Manager of Solidarity General Takaful “SGT”, a subsidiary of Solidarity Group Holding, one of the largest Takaful groups in the world.
Jawad Mohammed was formerly the Deputy General Manager of SGT, and has been with the Group since his appointment in 2003.
“Jawad is no stranger to Solidarity and has held several senior posts within the group,” said Solidarity Group Chief Executive and SGT’s Vice Chairman Ashraf Bseisu. “His appointment, at the helm of Solidarity General, is a reflection of the Board’s confidence in his abilities to guide our flagship company in the current challenging market environment,” he said.
“The vision is to see Solidarity General become the leading Sharia’ compliant insurance company in the Kingdom of Bahrain,” said Bseisu. “On behalf of the Board of Directors, I wish Jawad continued success in his latest assignment,” he said.
Jawad welcomed the appointment and thanked the Board of Directors for their continued support. “I am privileged to have been selected to lead the Company as we push ahead with the implementation of our strategic plans in Bahrain,” said Jawad. “I am confident that, under the Board’s directives and with the support of the management team, we will be able to translate our corporate vision into a tangible reality,” he said.
Jawad is a well-qualified and certified insurance professional with over 20 years of experience in business management, insurance and strategic planning. Prior to his new role, he was the Deputy General Manager of Solidarity. Before that, He assumed several directorships and senior posts at Solidarity, Bahrain National Holding and Ministry of Education. He is a Board member and Executive Committee member of First Insurance Company, Jordan; and board member of Solid Ventures WLL Bahrain, both are subsidiaries of Solidarity group.
Jawad is an associate member of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII), London and has successfully completed The Gulf Executive Development Program at Darden School of Business, University of Virginia, USA. He also has a Master’s degree from University of Sunderland, UK.
